A content management system is software (in this case, a website) that allows authorized users to create, edit, and delete content on a website or other application.
why
It all started when I started listening to Halley Labs, also known as LapFox Trax (Em Essex) in early 2025.
Something in what they did in their music lit a spark inside me. I really liked the personality all of their songs had. I really enjoyed the whole DIY feeling it had. I've always liked DIY stuff way more than the big corporate "polished" stuff, but this just made it click even harder.
So naturally I wanted to express it in the form of a video game. And not only a video game but a whole universe all in the same world. This spark it lit was burning brighter than ever. At some point I also wanted a place on the web for all of this.
I didn't just want to reuse some existing CMS someone else made. I wanted full control over it and also get to know web dev better. So building my own system was a really good lesson.
That's how this whole thing ended up as my own little backend for this website.
And maybe, just like Em's music pushed me into doing my own DIY stuff, this can someday inspire someone else to finally make the thing they keep telling themselves isn't good enough to share.
